The experience at East African Gospel is life-changing. It is our mission to create a supportive environment and opportunities for our students become passionate ministers. We aim to provide student support programs which will aid our music students throughout their entire course of study here and work to promote individual student excellence.
we believe in the education of the whole student- or as we like to call it, study, life, and ministry.
Students are highly involved in various aspects of activities.
The interactions that flow from living together allow students to apply the principles of loving God and others. Our desire is that your experiences outside of the classroom will help to shape the way you think about and live out the Gospel in your everyday life. Students are able to get involved, take part of Academy life, and join a network of like-minded students. Motivated to make a difference, make friends, or just have fun, our students groups offer a variety of events and fun activities.
Prayer Group is a student lead group that focuses on the spiritual growth of the student body. Students come together to pray for the Music School, classmates, staff/faculty members, and world events.
TCF is dedicated not only to academic excellence but also personal and spiritual growth. We believe that the Word of God should stand at the core of all that we do.
Students will encounter the Word of God daily while in classes, in chapel, or even in the dorms. Spiritual emphasis weekends, dorm devotions, mission trips, chapel, and Christian service are just some of the initiatives we take to ensure spiritual growth and maturity. We hope to see our students not only receive an outstanding education, but an experience that will encourage a closer relationship with Jesus.
A vital part of life at EA Gospel Academy is corporate worship. As we sing, pray, and hear from God’s Word together we desire to grow in our love for God. We respond to His character and work with lives of faith and devotion. We strive to be fully engaged in His activity in our individual lives, our community and around the world..
Corporate Worship, most often led by teams of student musicians, occur throughout the period at Academy. The outreach regularly serves in leading worship for churches, student ministries, Christian schools, and other gatherings.
People sustain deep wounds simply by living in a broken world, and as a result of their own and others’
sin. These wounds hinder relationships with God, self, and others; and they interrupt spiritual and
emotional growth; they compromise the health of the whole person.
Christian counseling is ultimately about spiritual formation. The counselors at East African Gospel Music Academy we seek to address spiritual and mental health needs of students in order that they may find healing and freedom, and be conformed to the image of Christ. Real hope is possible where there is a safe place to unearth pain, confess truth, and receive the true healing that God offers in Jesus Christ.
It is true that cultural customs and forms vary from one society to another. Yet within any given society
there are cultural forms that help build Christian character and others that weaken it.
Our Discipleship main focus is to increase the effectiveness of musicians, clergy, and laity through the exchange of ideas, development of skills, and opportunities for fellowship as we participate in the mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
We believe our mission is to educate, enrich, and instill a lifelong love of music in future generations of musicians. To further this goal, we offer a number of outreach events for not only the individual musician but also for school groups. We also offer two specialty days for prospective students
EA Gospel Academy offers age-appropriate music classes for all ages using a specially formatted, instrument-based music curriculum. Our classes introduce learners to musical concepts, instruments and activities that enhance other learning such as the acquisition of language, listening skills, auditory discrimination, social understanding and personal discovery. Hands On! classes are designed to include music, story, movement and the exploration of various musical instruments that children can see and touch.
Supplement personal study in God’s Word with time spent discussing God’s Word with others. Devotions are a chance for students to come together to learn and apply God’s Word. Because they happen in a smaller group setting, students have the opportunity to share from God’s Word and open discussion in how God has led them through the Scriptures. There are also devotions led by Dean’s Staff, individuals well-equipped for pouring their knowledge and spiritual growth into others
Since it is assumed that all students at the Academy are Christians and that they are attending in order to prepare themselves for service in the church, standards of conduct and behavior are much different than they are at other schools with which you might be familiar. EA Gospel Academy is serious about training Christians to live, work, and minister effectively for God. This means that we design programs and develop policies that we believe further our purpose.
The Student Handbook is the STANDARD AND GUIDE FOR STUDENT CONDUCT BOTH ON AND OFF SCHOOL.
The details concerning policies and programs relating to student life are found in that document. The descriptions given in this catalog are designed to convey a general sense of the overall approach to life at EA Gospel Academy.
