Ministry Tour Brings East African Gospel Music, Worship and Cross-Cultural Fellowship to Western Uusimaa

Western Uusimaa, Finland — August 2026: East African Gospel brought the sound of East African gospel music and worship to Finland during a 10-day ministry tour that brought together musicians, churches, ministry leaders and communities through music, fellowship and the Gospel.

The ministry tour, held from August 3 to 12, 2026, was hosted in partnership with the Free Church of Vihti and ViaDia Länsi-Uusimaa ry, with the Valofestarit Gospel Festival serving as one of the major highlights of the visit.

The mission provided an opportunity for the East African Gospel team to share music from East Africa with Finnish audiences while building relationships with local churches and Christian communities.

East African Music Connects Cultures

One of the memorable moments of the tour was a cultural concert at ViaDia Länsi-Uusimaa ry in Nummela.

The East African Gospel team presented different styles of African gospel music, including songs in East African languages. The performance created an atmosphere of celebration and worship, with members of the audience joining in through singing, clapping and dancing.

The event demonstrated the ability of gospel music to connect people across cultures, even when they do not share the same language.

Gospel Festival Brings Churches Together

The Valofestarit Gospel Festival at Nummela Town Square brought together Christians from different church backgrounds as well as members of the wider community.

The festival featured several musical teams, including Jipii Youth, Eve and Ossi, and East African Gospel. The East African Gospel team had the opportunity to close the festival with a presentation that combined worship, music and the message of Christ.

The gathering created a welcoming environment where people could experience gospel music, meet Christians from different traditions and hear the Christian message.

Taking the Gospel Beyond the Church

The ministry tour also included community outreach and evangelism.

Members of the team joined local ministry leaders in reaching out to people in the community and inviting them to the Gospel Festival. These encounters created opportunities for conversations, fellowship and sharing the hope of Christ.

The outreach reflected East African Gospel's commitment to using music not only as a form of worship but also as a means of reaching communities and building relationships.

A Celebration of East African Gospel Music

The Finland tour also provided an international platform for East African musicians to showcase their musical gifts.

The team's singers and instrumentalists brought together vocals, drums, keyboard and other musical expressions to present a distinctive East African worship experience.

For the musicians, the opportunity demonstrated how East African gospel music can travel across borders and connect with audiences in different cultural settings.

Building Relationships Across Nations

Beyond the concerts and outreach activities, the visit created opportunities for meaningful fellowship between the East African Gospel team and their Finnish hosts.

Shared meals, conversations, cultural experiences and ministry activities helped strengthen relationships between Christians from East Africa and Finland.

The tour also provided an opportunity for the visiting team to experience Finnish culture and communities while sharing aspects of East African culture with their hosts.

Continuing the Mission Through Music

The Finland ministry tour forms part of the wider vision of East African Gospel to develop Christ-centred musicians, worship leaders and music ministers who can use their gifts to serve God and reach people across cultures and nations.

The experience in Finland demonstrated the potential of music to create bridges between communities, strengthen Christian fellowship and provide opportunities to share the Gospel.

East African Gospel expressed appreciation to the Free Church of Vihti, ViaDia Länsi-Uusimaa ry, Pastor Timo Kulta, Satu Kulta, participating churches, musicians, volunteers and community members who contributed to the ministry activities.

The Finland tour was more than a series of musical events. It was an opportunity to share faith, culture and fellowship through music while building relationships that can continue beyond the mission.

East African Gospel remains committed to using music as a vehicle for worship, ministry, evangelism and international connection — carrying the Gospel from East Africa to the nations.
