Pr. Ogwang Steven Challenges Musicians to Serve God Faithfully
The calling of a gospel musician goes beyond singing, playing an instrument or standing on a stage. It is a responsibility to use one's musical gift faithfully in service to God and His people.
This was the focus of a message shared by Pr. Ogwang Steven during the East African Gospel World Music Mission 2025, where musicians, worship leaders and ministry participants gathered to grow in their understanding of music and ministry.
Pr. Ogwang Steven encouraged musicians to develop a heart of faithful service, reminding them that musical ability must be accompanied by humility, commitment and a genuine desire to honour God.
He challenged musicians and worship leaders not to measure their ministry only by the size of the audience, the platform they receive or the recognition they gain. Instead, they were encouraged to remain faithful in every opportunity to serve, whether before a large congregation or in a small and seemingly unnoticed setting.
The message highlighted the importance of character in music ministry. As musicians develop their skills and receive greater opportunities, they must also grow spiritually and remain committed to the purpose behind their gifts.
The conference encouraged participants to see music not simply as entertainment or a profession, but as a powerful avenue for worship, discipleship, evangelism and ministry.
Pr. Ogwang Steven's message served as a reminder that the heart behind the music matters as much as the music itself. Musicians who faithfully steward their gifts can use their influence to point people to Christ and make a lasting impact through their ministry.
The East African Gospel World Music Mission 2025 continues to reflect a wider vision of equipping Christ-centred musicians and worship leaders to use their gifts faithfully in the Church and across the nations.
